New Horizons is one of my biggest projects that I’ve ever done in graphic design. It was an assignment for my Senior graphic design class and we were allowed to do anything we wanted as long as it was within the criteria. I decided to do an electronic music festival welcome box with the theme being synthwave. In total, there is 1 welcome box, 1 poster, 1 hoodie, 1 guide, 2 stickers, 2 wristbands, 1 cap, 1 pair of sunglasses and 1 water bottle. It took me from the beginning of October to the end of November of 2022 to complete and get everything shipped in.
The main colors of the project is a gradient of yellow, orange and purple with a white background. I used many different vendors for this project, but Printful was the main one and for the images, I used Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Indesign. The main aesthetics originate from synthwave and 80’s retro illustrations of space. All products have the New Horizons logo somewhere on them as well as the yellow, orange and purple gradient colors.
While I did have fun making this project, I wish that I had more time or that I did more, because there were a lot of ideas I was generating while I was still making it, such as an idea for a CD cover as well as different sticker designs. I also wished that I had worked more on certain items, such as the main box and the guide. Despite all that, I’m still very happy with how it turned out and it's the project I’m most proud of.
